There was a reason why Rudy supported Cuomo. He know something about Pataki we didn't and surprise we found out later on. Wacki Pataki was just that WACKY!! NYers know that too bad you don't. So if Pataki ran for president you would support him?

Wacky Patiki is slightly right of Rudy. Cuomo is a certified socialist anti-american dirtbag.

Trying to justify support for such a vermin like Cuomo is pathetic. It would be the equivalent of me endorsing Ted Kennedy over Rudy.

"There was a reason why Rudy supported Cuomo."

Nobody will care about Rudy once they find out what he stands for. Thompson's the MAN!

Giuliani supported Cuomo for one simple reason.

The Giuliani administration relied heavily on revenue sources from higher levels of government in order to balance its books, which means he needed big-government, tax-and-spend liberals in Albany and in Washington in order to keep the city solvent. Cuomo was perfectly suited for this role, while Pataki was not.

It's worth noting that this is the same underlying reason why Giuliani was an outspoken critic of some high-profile Federal laws signed by Bill Clinton after 1994, too -- notably the welfare reform and immigration reform laws of 1996.
