"Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (C) meets with a British sailor (L) following his press conference in Tehran. The 15 British sailors who have been held by Iran for nearly two weeks met with British Ambassador Geoffrey Adams for the first time during their detention, the British foreign ministry said on Wednesday"

I love the three guys on the right. The third man, from the right, reminds me of Daniel Craig as James Bond.

Are the three on the right the Marines? It would make sense. If I was one of those three I would’ve snapped early into it. I can’t believe the female was the ranking person of the group. 1 woman in a group of 15? It doesn’t take a genius to figure out what tactics the Iranians probably used to break her and her comrades. The three men on the right look like they probably got the memo that this wasn’t a game. All I know is....there should be a complete investigation into their behavior and actions as hostages. They couldn’t stop the Iranians from taking pictures and video of them but I can guarantee that they should in no way have capitulated to their captors. You would’ve had to break my fingers and hands before I would’ve written any letter. They would’ve also had to kill me before I would’ve made any verbal statement. I don’t give a rat’s a$$ why they did those things all I know is if they were true patriots and sailors/soldiers they would be coming home with injuries and even in a body bag. Those Iranian bastards would have to shoot me from the get go because I would be a rabid dog if they captured me. All I remember from the Marines is Name Rank and SS#. You don’t say anything else and you don’t break....even if your “gov’t” isn’t behind you. You should still have personal courage and moral grounds to fight back.

Come on, it must have been rough for them. Rumor is they had only black and white television, and being denied corkscrews they were forced to survive on food and water.

Have a heart, anyone would have turned.

“This may support the theory that all of the fighting genes have been killed out in the UK.”

LOL, but look at the US. We are a divided country down to 50% that would fight for anything. Do you think the children of American leftists would fight? And if they would, would our professional military want a draft that included those wussies?

I don’t want to judge the Brit sailors and marines too harshly, they never should have been in a position to not defend themselves. However, I do think the confessions were a little to comprehensive and speedily given and with just a little to much glee.

I say this in a constructive way, because the Brit military probably needs to realize they have somewhat of a problem in that regard.

What it all boils down to is, why didn’t the British mother ship blast the six iranian boats out of the water? That is what this story should be about!

Were you there for 10 years? If so, I’m sorry and thanks. If not, were soldiers really there for 10 years?? I thought the longest was 5-6 years.

Awww, look at Faye. Isn’t that an adorable picture? It’s like she’s saying, “Tee-hee I’m so adorable. I’m going home and I’m going to get a medal! Tee-hee.”

This picture makes me want to puke up my lower intestine.

“I think it’s very cruel of us, sitting in our homes with our families, to judge them. Very cruel.”

They are soldiers. At least give a token effort to resist. That lunatic said, jump and they yelled how high? ROYAL FREAKIN MARINES did this.

I don’t blame the hostages. I blame the government for being candy a$$ wussies who just put huge targets on their backs.

much as I hate to use Wiki as a source, the longest held American prisoner was there 9 years. When he returned to the US, he stayed in the navy until 1980- for the “rest of the story” fans.

This was a comment posted after an article here—

“This is obviously excellent news, and probably the best outcome that could be expected. However, without wishing to condone the Iranian’s behaviour, this does seem to indicate that steps ought to be taken to encourage the Iranian’s to become more tightly integrated into the broader world community and reduce their level of anger against the rest of the world, and the west in particular. While this may be an impossible dream, surely it would do no harm to encourage a closer level of communication between our various societies?

- Andy, Kent, UK”

After the Iranians kidnapped and kept these British soldiers hostage for 14 days, are sending men and weapons to Iraq to kill Coalition Forces, and want to wipe Israel off the map! Encourage a closer level of communication between our various societies??? Unbelievable!

You’ve got be joking. “...come back with the nukes?” Right. The only country who will ever be nuked in the future is the U.S. and probably Britain. I also laugh at the people that want to believe that the hostages were released because of the U.S. battle group present in the Iranian Gulf. That too is freakin hilarious. If the Iranians were afraid of the battle group then why did they take the hostages in the first place? There were plenty of war ships in the area at that time. No there won’t be any retaliation. Only Tony Blair graciously thanking Iran for it’s kindness, and then a cadre of U.S. soldiers will be captured and paraded around and nothing done.
