I love your sanctuary stories and threads..I have never experienced a bird feeding from my hand..My squirrels run when I open the sliding door usually..My smallest raccoon will stare at me sometimes..but go right back to eating...I have a light on at the computer ,of course, and they can see me.
When I went out just before dark to spread the seed the air was perfumed.I can only think about the honeysuckle that grows up the trees in the ravine..It was wonderful whatever it was..
That sounds wonderful to have such a beautiful scent in the air. I’m jealous. :)
That’s neat. The squirrels and raccoons are such characters to watch. How wonderful you can see them (and they see you ;) right from your computer.
When we returned today, I stood outside with seed. One Chickadee attempted to fly to my hand and then chickened out and flew off. It would be great if I could get them to take seed from my hand in my yard. We’ll see. I find it amazing how they recognize us from feeding them, and can sense we won't hurt them.
