“Good points about the overconfidence. We DO have the largest, best equipped military. We are the one indepensible nation... BUT - it remains to be seen if we’ll do anything about Iran in time. There are indications we are- massive show of strength in Gulf, escalating (belated) complaints about Iran’s wrongdoing. On 9/11, 19 Muslims with extraordinary foresight learned how to fly and used our own technology against us. Obviously, the Iranians are smarter than we think. They’ve managed to screw with the world for decades, with little punishment. They have held “under house arrest” Osama’s son(s) and Al Qaeda members. That said, if we had the will, we could do the job.”
Agreed we have the capability to deal with Iran and they need to be dealt with. The Democratic leadership has also been clever and has ensured we cannot overthrow the mullahs which is the only true way we would ever be able to effectively stop Iran from building the bomb and using it on Israel and the USA. That being said, I still believe we will bomb them and slow their progress. We will have to really tighten border and naval security.
