Salvation Council’s Tough Stance
An interesting interview took place a few days ago in Baghdad with the head of the Anbar Salvation Council, Sheik Hamid al-Hais. He eludes to the surge in police recruits over the past few months in Anbar Province, and has some hard-hitting statements about our struggle with Al Qaeda in the area. We have the local and regional sheiks aligned with us, and the results are impressive and cannot be discounted. Critical daily incidents are down significantly in the area compared to a year ago, and the emergency response units we are guiding through training on-base are the reason. Loyal to their tribes, these men are patrolling their lands and protecting their own from Al-Quaeda’s purposeful targeting of innocents and attempts at destabilization. Our success in Anbar is directly tied to theirs...
“We have our own tribal legal system and this is constant and cannot be changed. Murderers must be killed under tribal law and unless we use this force against terrorism, terrorism will continue to rise.”

Not good. Bastards.
Morning BahBah.
Good morning, Workerbee....
Got enough coffee in me that I think I’ll be safe to drive — so off for a quick walmart run....
You and Bahbah may talk quietly among yourselves until I return.....
Good morning, Workerbee.
The President has held the bustards off on time tables.
I am so disgusted with Congress that I could spit nickles.
I’m with ya there. Politicians can sure make a mess of a simple system of govenment meant to govern a free Christian people.
I’m back — none the worse for the experience...

BERLIN, May 23 (Reuters) - Iran must decide whether it wants to cooperate with the international community over its nuclear programme or face harsher sanctions, French President Nicolas Sarkozy was quoted as saying on Wednesday.
In his first detailed public comments on the West’s nuclear standoff with the Islamic republic since taking office, Sarkozy said the concept of a nuclear-armed Iran was “unacceptable”.
“I for my part think one should not hesitate to toughen the sanctions,” Sarkozy said in an interview published in the German monthly magazine Cicero.

Has anybody noticed -—
As far as I can tell there has not been one mention of Lebanon or Gaza this morning..
Anywhere....
The good guys must be winning......
Not yet - I’m on my office puter so I don’t have all my links.
Things went pretty quiet after it was reported that the government told the army to finish the job and clean them out...exactly what needs to be done wherever they are encountered. Perhaps our betters in the media do not want to reinforce this perception.

“Terror attack can not be ruled out” — Since the default position in the media is “Terrorism not suspected” (nothing-to-see-here-move-along-folks), this is almost certainly terrorism related......
Thank You Knitting - it is good to see you.
Now thats the Russia I grew up with.
