BBC Five Live now having a panel discussion talking about our “culture of guns”. Really something the venom in their voice when they talk of the right to bear arms.

I was incredibly pissed to see Fox give that worthless sack of protoplasm airtime so that he could use this awful event to push his moronic theories. What a shameless media whore. And shame on Fox for lending him legitimacy.

That’s okay. I got more information listening to those two students (The injured one called MSNBC from his hospital room.) than I have from this law officer and the school’s president at this CYA news conference.
For gosh sakes, those two callers were eyewitnesses and law enforcement hasn’t spoken to them? Meanwhile, the interview the interview with one has been linked on Drudge for over two hours! Why couldn’t the officer speaking at the news conference provide at least this information?
The only new things I heard from that news conference is that both dorm victims are dead and that the shooter shot himself and was carrying no identification.
This unbelievable that the shooter hasn’t been identified yet.
I take it the prints weren’t in the system? Because if they couldn’t get a usable set of prints off the guy, and the labels were cut out of his clothes, stuff like that, I’d be tending more toward a terrorism angle and less about a student/boyfriend/professor/TA going postal.
it happened in Columbine. it happened with the DC sniper case. and look at the Duke case, had it not been for tough investigative media exposure, what would have happened in that case.
So the two bomb threats (the most recent being 72 hours ago), in which a $$$$ reward was offered, meant nothing?
The school altered their scheduled events this past weekend, moved them to different locations on campus even.
I got to this REAL late, and am data-mining for analysis now.
If it was a crime of passion like others have said,then this boy routinely carried almost a full combat-load of ammo.
AND was able to evade the first response, set up across campus, and start in again.
I’m looking for footprints of organized attack, as well as those of crime of passion.
You could see the strain in his face as he spoke of the massacre.

The presser at Virginia Tech indicated that they are still investigating the connection between the two separate events. One can not assume therefore that there was a single shooter.
Or reasonable people will, if faced with facts to the contrary, conclude that it was not jihadists after all.
There's an amazing lack of facts to support the "jihadist" theory. All we really know is that a bunch of kids are dead.
The facts are what matter, not personal preconceptions about what jihadists may or may not try to do.
Unfortunately, there are all too many folks at FR who are not reasonable people.
