I like your tag.

Thanks. I barely made it fit and I couldn't fit the writer as well. The author was Benjamin Franklin and he get's the credit. Btw, I added the letter "r" to your post. Minor editing.

I hear ya', but what about the spector of the potential Beslan-type incident? Perhaps college students should consider growing up?

Sports games are another potential SJS target - gun-free zone, too. I'm just saying, folks ought to wake up and think through the recent history. And, as we brag about our drug-free and gun-free school zones, the bad guys see "target of opportunity."

Is that the shooter or a victim?

If these kids were killed in class, I cannot see any university that would or should allow students to be walking around with guns in class with them.

You mean "students" like me, a 35 year old holder of an FFL and an MI officer? I can shoot quarters out of the sky. If I had been in Norris Hall, and been "illegally" armed like most law-abiding citizens, I could have possibly stopped this attack or at least mitigated it.

This maniac, in a "gun-free" zone, shot over 50 students, killing half, for over 2 HOURS!!!

THAT TO ME IS INSANE! LAW ABIDING CITIZENS NOT CARRYING DEFENSIVE FIREARMS TO ME IS THE INSANE PART!

And the one that the MSM and gun grabbers really don’t want you to remember, the 1998 shootings in Pearl, MS - which were stopped only because the vice principal had a 1911 in his truck and was able to retrieve it:

Great info per scanner. Do you have a Motorola trunk system out there? We have an APCO-25 system here in Ohio which has been a challenge to keep up with.

As a matter of fact, I can't recall a single case where school shooters had been thwarted by armed civilians -- even though some of those shootings have occurred in places where personal firearms ownership is common.

I thought one was stopped by a teacher who retrieved a gun from his car. I can't remember which it might have been though.

According to the staff directory, he’s in Hutcheson Hall. No idea where that is in relation to where these shootings took place.

“Rubber gloves = hazmat suits?”

More likely for Officers looking for Id on students and for going through the scent with out contaminating it. And for personal protection. If they were hasmat suits they would be requesting Hasmat suits. So far there has been no request for that that I have HEARD. That will be taken care of by investigators that are not on the Scanner channel I am listening to. They are using phones for secure communications now.

This will not be good for anybody with a VT degree on their resume.

With the trauma helicopters grounded due to weather/snow....I bet they didnt get to surgery in time to save more. Those type of numbers would overwhelm the hospital system. 50+ gunshots victims would test NYC’s trauma system.

My dad and the rest of the JROTC used to bring their guns into classrooms in HIGH SCHOOL.

When I was in HS (30 years ago, in Alabama) it was common to see rifles & shotguns in gun racks in pickups in the school's parking lot. Time's have changed.

You are so right. Too late for the dead but the wounded can still use our prayers for a full recovery. And also the families...this is so incredibly sad and horrific. It can happen anywhere nowadays.
