I saw the same warning.

I did notice a number of uniformed ROTC students. Wonder if that had anything to do with it. Just wondering at this point.

At my Alma Mater, the University of Nevada, the campus police are all sworn peace officers with firearms and very competent. When I lived in the dorms, every school policeman knew me and every other resident by first name— at first I thought it was strange and now I think its exceptional.

Also, they have their own SWAT team and 2 sniper teams.

I’d say thats something for other universities to consider.

I did notice a number of uniformed ROTC students.

Those are members of the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets. The VTCC is a full time, 24-7 cadet corps that coexists with the 'civilian' student population, much like at Texas A&M. It's not a requirement to be in ROTC to be in the Cadet Corps.
