A friend of ours went berzerk going cold turkey off Effexor. You just can’t do that with chemicals. Threatened to kill his wife (he had a concealed weapon permit and a gun) so she ran out of the house and called police from a neighbors house. He had a standoff with the police from the afternoon and thru the night, firing shots out the windows. He ended up killing himself. This was soooo out of character.
Sorry about your friend. For many people, Effexor is evil stuff often called Side-Effexor. Who told your friend to go cold turkey? All over the Net you can find sites devoted to How to get off Effexor...it’s time release stuff, apparently, with some users recommending literally counting out the tiny grains of the drug and eliminating one grain per day.

we also know of someone who killed themselves going off effexor.
This is why I have studied these drugs.
Now, they do work for some, but not all.
If you read about how many suicides and killings are done by people who are on these drugs, some who have just had increased doses of these drugs or who as you say go berzerk when getting off them the wrong way, it is astonishing, the numbers.
Have read where people have killed themselves in clinical trials and it is hushed up by the drug companies.
It is very sad.
Thses chemicals send the wrong signal to the brain in some people and should be monitored.
All I am saying is that this if this killer was on a mind altering drug, like prozac,it should be investigated and not pushed to the side as it has been in so many of these killings.
