By "those who should have known" do you mean the counselors, the VT staff or...?
Do you think the outcome could have been different? How so? (This is an honest question. I am trying to learn.)
There is a paper shown on TV tonight where a Magistrate had him examined. He was actually examined by a doctor who showed him "mentally ill" and a "danger to himself and others." Now at that point someone had an opportunity to intercede for him. In an inpatient setting he could have had several electric shock treatments that rapidly block the suicidal, paranoid thought patterns; then the good drugs and psychotherapy can help him back to some reality. This is so tragic for all. Imagine his parents.
