We all know it isn't just military families that sport such poor excuses for mothers. It does seem a bit out of place, though; and in one celebrated case the Sheehan has been given a forum for worthlessness as a mother many politicians would kill for.
I'm pretty sure if my mother planned to protest my graduation, she would do it from the sidewalk. There's a fighting chance she wouldn't get a ticket to any of the events. There is an equal chance that she would have seen the last of me, and any friends I met along the way would learn I was an orphan...unless my father still belonged in the picture. I can't imagine a man worthy of the distinction putting up with such a worthless woman as soon as he learned how worthless she is.
