“He declined to speculate on how the person got a gun inside NASA security or his motives.”

Well, I imagine he put it in his car, drove on the base, put it in his pocket, used his badge to get in the building and walked into the conference room.

(rolling eyes)

Per KPRC 2, those who were evaculated out of Bldg 44 were directed to ‘the old fire station’ building.

They were not allowed to go to the lot where there cars are parked.

Gun-free zones are recipe for disaster
http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/04/19/commentary.nugent/index.html

Zero tolerance, huh? Gun-free zones, huh? Try this on for size: Columbine gun-free zone, New York City pizza shop gun-free zone, Luby’s Cafeteria gun-free zone, Amish school in Pennsylvania gun-free zone and now Virginia Tech gun-free zone.

KPRC 2:

SWAT team readying, moving into position, getting ready to act.

JSC, like MSFC, is a Gun Free Zone. I hope security gets there quick, because EVERYONE BUT THE SHOOTER is unarmed.

Same with KSC and JPL.

I’m going to assume you just used my post to reply from. I agree, but the CCs that I know don’t risk losing their license to carry into a gun-free zone.

“I hope a stray bullet doesn’t hit the shuttle”

Hate to be the one to tell you this, Sheila Jackson Lee, but the shuttle is in Florida

Why is that? Why can’t Texas have one too?

Might be difficult since the shuttles are in Florida.

But building 44 is a few hundred feet from the Mission Control building. MCC is a concrete bunker though, so no chance of a stray bullet affecting operations there. Except building 44 might house the TDRSS satellite uplink to the space station.
