No one knows at this point, it’s still an active situation. The man, 50 - 60 years old, is still barracaded within the building. Channel 11 (CBS) is not giving much information at this time.
Police Conference: 2 shots were fired. Witness said he did see the Perp with a weapon earlier.
Barracaded in a room. No communication (that they are telling us) established with Perp, but they are trying to establish communications with him.
No confirmation that Perp is even still alive.
Object of first 2 shots, unknown. Shots were after Perp had entered building.
No known motive.
Negotiators have been unsuccessful in establishing communications with Perp. Perp may be refusing any comm attempts.

SWAT is inside ... 50-year-old suspect, one man ... we don’t know if there is another person inside with him ... not sure what kind of weapon he has ... have not yet established communication with the gunman ... he *is* barricaded in there ... can’t confirm about Jacobs or not ... can’t confirm whether he is still alive or not ... unknown if the first shots were directed at anyone or anything, but they were fired inside the bldg ... no police officers have seen the POI yet, only the initial employee witness ... We need to get to the reason WHY within the next 30 minutes!

-an employee of NASA is a witness to seeing the man with a gun- 2-3 shots were “heard”.
-No one knows if all NASA employees of #44 are accounted for..no one knows if anyone is injured.
- No one knows if the gunman is dead or alive, they are still attempting to set up communication with him...
Don't even get me started on the idiocy of a FEDERAL ban on it's employees carrying personal arms.
What should have happened in this instance is this idiot walking into the room, ordering everyone out and gun point, and getting ventilated by 3-4 armed employees...
Cuts down on recidivism and court costs as well.
Did they evacuate the town yet?
Furthermore...we also need to know what his childhood issues are, and if he has been under the care of a psychiatrist, what is his marital status, is his mortgage payment late...

Reporter asks about photo being received that may be Perp.
Officer says he is unaware of any photo.
Make sure to line up his parents, siblings, any other distant relatives, college roommates, professors, previous coworkers. I am sure we can get to the “bottom” of this in 30 minutes.
Modern age is amazing, and scary. We want everything tidy within a 2 hour movie format.
