If the Rutgers women's basketball players had spurned an invitation to meet with President Bush, do you think ABC might have told us about it? Natch. But when those same players blew off a chance to meet Hillary Clinton, ABC managed to put a positive spin on matters.
View video here.As reported by Newsday in an article entitled Rutgers team skips Clinton meeting
Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton finally dropped by Rutgers to meet with the school's women's basketball coach -- but the players themselves skipped the half-hour meeting, citing their studies and Imus fatigue.
"Many of the players were in study hall from eight to noon and some had finals," explained a Rutgers source who said the players were "tired" of all the attention. "These young women need to do their classes, and wrap their spring semester."It's enough to give a guy flashbacks to co-eds shooting him down for a Saturday-night date because they had to study.
Senator Hillary Clinton paid a visit Friday to Rutgers University. She met with the coach of the women's basketball team. She said the young women showed the world the difference between bravery and bravado.A clip of Hillary on stage at Rutgers was flashed, and that was it. Not a discouraging word of the snub by the players was heard. You remember the old Bing Crosby song:
You've got to ac-cen-tu-ate the positive. At least when it comes to an MSM outlet's treatment of a leading Dem presidential contender, that is.
E-lim-in-ate the negative.
BTTT
Sounds like the girls have some brains.
one player said “ she ain’t making her bones w/ me”
We're Post-Deconstructionment now.
yep.
po’ derrida died in 2004.
I picture inmates at a prison not being allowed to talk to each other, and in adjacent cells with concrete walls, playing chess without boards or pieces by tapping out the moves in code.
lol!
and during another clinton presidency?
28 years of 2 families has to be a dictatorship of a banana republic.
Oh, my...that is bad...but, I think what I saw on Hairball was just as bad.
Sissy Chrissy had on Joe Trippi, I believe, and he showed video of Hillary giving that speech..
He asked if Hillary didn’t have a perfect slow pitch right over the plate to hit out...and that Imus just “set her up perfectly”...and it was commented that this was Hillary’s perfect chance to make an impression on these girls, and other college girls with her message of “empowerment”.
(I think it was Trippi with Chris..I may be wrong...but I remember that exchange because of all of the speculation on this site that Hillary had something to do with getting Imus fired.....so the irony of what was said really made me roll my eyes).
If this embarrassing snub of Hillary had happened to a Republican instead, it would have been the lead story - - complete with smirks - - on GMA and every other Democrat gabfest program.
Hillary was supposed to meet with them on Monday. But the Virginia Tech coverage caused her to delay this meeting.
Remember, on her website, she asked people to forward an email, or maybe it was a petition, to the Rutgers players, showing their support for those young women.
Any idiot who needs prompting by Hillary, who will scoop up the accolades, is only going through the motions.
Those women don’t need a message of solidarity. And I don’t blame them for wanting to move on.
Good post and Davey ‘spinning’ [or avoiding] news as usual.
I heard this first here on FR. Hillary Clinton.
I agree with you, her poll numbers have been in decline.
I recall an incident when Hillary was booed and MSM covered it up. Might have been after 9/11 but I cannot recall any longer.
What is Hillary raving about here? Imus?
What is she screaming about? Her dropping poll numbers?
