Well lets see

Who is one of our best allies in Iraq... Briton we had our first war with them, and a second to boot. What about one of our best allies in the Pacific heck they surprise attacked us and we nuked them.

Yes, we let go of wars over time!

The war over the right to fly the Confederate flag on the state capital grounds or states rights — as stated in Post 33 which prompted your response. (Damn, you’re not gonna do that thing where you can’t keep up with your own comments again, are you?)

“All the aggressive actions were on the part of the South.”

I can only assume that you are referring to actually War Between the States rather than the hypothetical one — but who knows? “ALL” of the aggressive actions were on the part of the South? LOL! Even you know better than that.

With the strength of southern boys in the United States military I think the south is probably the military’s best resource. Let’s just work together to fight an even bigger threat to our country. The enemy is within our own government.

Hanging onto the long dead past is destroying the Republican Party.

How do you figure that? The once solidly Democratic south is now solidly conservative Republican from the Ohio river to the gulf of Mexico, and from the Virginia coast to the AZ desert. Take away the former Confederate states and politically speaking the northeastern states would be just an extension of Canada.

But I am a little surprised by the size of the opposition in some of the western states. A large percentage of the original settlers in much of the west were southerners who were dispossessed of their homes and property by Yankee carpetbaggers and southern scalawags during the 15 year long era of vengeful Reconstruction tyranny enforced on white southerners by Yankee bayonets. If that fool Booth had not murdered Lincoln I believe the south would have fared much better after the war.

Hey I’m with you, I'm just sick of all this ‘Damn Yankee’ crap when I agree that its only up to people in SC what flag flys there.

I don't. Just what is it that we are going to repeat?

Slavery?

Oh please.

Another Civil War?

Another? There was never a first 'civil war'. (look up the definition of 'civil war')

You scoff at the Confederate flag issue. "Remove it from the Capital grounds!", you scream. But that won't satisfy you libs. You'll want it banned from all public display because you see it as a devisive symbol, and to hell with the 1st Amendment (or any other amendment) when we're talking about offending a certain segment of the US population.

Actually it would be more like ESPN telling South Carolina what to do. Nowhere in this article is any suggestion that the federal government tell South Carolina to take the flag down. Unless I missed it somewhere.

“ALL” of the aggressive actions were on the part of the South? LOL! Even you know better than that.

Point out the aggressive acts on the part of the North for me.

“Nowhere in this article is any suggestion that the federal government tell South Carolina to take the flag down. Unless I missed it somewhere.”

Then why post banal comments? Or more important, why do I bother responding to your banal comments?

“Point out the aggressive acts on the part of the North for me.”

Uh, how about almost every attack the north perpetrated upon the South? What, are you saying that sending troops to the South and attacking southerners were defensive moves?

Can’t blame you for not wanting to be called a “damn yankee”. I personally reserve that title for the ones who want to continue forcing their liberal views on the south.

It's called fighting the war that the other side started. Or are you saying that merely hanging on to your own property is an act of war?

Yeah. You’re right. Can’t argue with such astounding logic. Sending a ship to resupply a fort that no longer belongs to you certainly isn’t an act of agression. Nope.

Who said the fort no longer belonged to them? What rule of law will transfer ownership without the owners consent and without compensation?

Refusing to sit back and allow the South to steal whatever federal property they could get their mitts on is not an act of aggression.

That map makes it look like the Mason-Dixon line still exists.

Interestingly, CA and SC are exact opposites (63-37 and 37-63).

I really need to move to SC.

are you a DAMNyankee??? (i'd never thought that of you.)

to BE a DAMNyankee you MUST:

1. BE one of the LOUD-mouthed,10-15% of northerners, who are truly south-HATERS,

2. BELIEVE that southerners & the south are INFERIOR to the north & northerners,

3. BELIEVE southern institutions are NATURALLY inferior to similar things/places "up there",

4.BE an UNthinking, sanctimonious BIGOT &

5. BE unwilling to learn the truth about the south & southerners.

as my grandfather used to say: "a DAMNyankee is a BIGOT & if they were NOT prejudiced against the southland, they would be some other sort of empty-headed BIGOT".

IF you would prefer NOT to be called a DAMNyankee, then don't think/act like one.

just for the record, "al BORE" claimed TN, but he never REALLY lived there.he's spent virtually all his life in DC & is an "inside the beltway type", eating at the public trough, clear to his marrow.

btw, "al BORE" is a SCALAWAG & is UNwelcome in "polite company" anywhere in dixie. DC is welcome to him.

actually, you should go do some reading on the CORWIN AMENDMENT, so that you don't look foolish. it passed BOTH houses & was perfectly ACCEPTABLE to "DIShonest abe, the TYRANT".

the amendment would have made slavery PERMANENT & protected by the Constitution.

also, the WBTS was ONLY about FREEDOM for dixie. nothing more;nothing less.
