“Some of those who were zotted didn’t start out as trolls/moles. At least not intentionally. They signed on early, as devout Republicans. They have remained loyal to the party, as they see it. They never had conservative values to begin with. I think it’s been quite a shock to them that the new direction (left) that they’re trying to steer the party, isn’t acceptable here. I think they really believe their plan to liberalize the Republican Party is necessary to save it, and they just can’t understand why conservatives won’t jump on the bandwagon. They have no concept of core values. They honestly believe that party loyalty is a core value. It’s sad.”
I would carry it one step further and state that a few “top cadre” did figure it out and have encouraged some coordinated anti conservative ambushes.
