What happened to you in Arizona is also happening in other States. It's not productive to run on divisive issues! It affects party support.

This is how I view it. So I suppose you can look at the same thing in two different ways. You see it as a betrayal, and I see it as a political mistake that caused a backlash that affected the party and the future for that matter.

Now I see the answer being proffered is to do more of the same, only with more emphasis!

So you see, this causes me a great deal of heartburn, but they make pill for that, as I have discovered.

So if we don’t stand for what we believe in, why are we here? Jim Kolbe stood for plenty of controversial issues. He was for gay rights, open borders, political correctness, and abortion. So was his hand picked succesor. To run to the liberal side is still taking stands on these issues.

The way I see it is a politician emphasizes different issues in the general than the primary, tempered of course by the political makeup of the area in which you live.
