Do you not think Naziism was an ideology? You make muslims surrender the same way you make anyone else surrender: You make them want to live more than they want to be muslims. You do this by killing them in large numbers and making those you don’t kill so miserable and afraid of being killed that they give up. You don’t necessarily win wars by killing lots of the other guys soldiers, you win wars by making the civilian population stop supporting the war.
Islam is a virulent ideology and I agree we have been in a centuries long struggle with it. However, the culture is full of bragidoccio, but they are at heart, cowards. They understand force and force alone. The only way to defeat it is with consistent force. I only wish we would employ that.
Nazism was an ideology. But, it was one confined to a “home” and also greatly a political means. It never could have survived as threat outside of its “home”... destroy the nest, the bees go away.
What we face today is a true ideology. One where it is internalized. It’s personal. And has been for centuries.
There is no grand dictator sitting over most of these people, telling them to join or form terror cells. They do this out of willingness, a personal drive. A drive given to them by their parents, and theirs, and so on and so forth.
This is an idieology based in families, in homes, on the streets, and formed in individual minds daily. This isnt forced upon them. This is embraced by them.
German Nazism doesnt even compare in the slightest to this. Nazis were political. This is personal.
This is going on a long time because we ignored the gathering storm too long. Iraq became a roach motel that attracted Alqueda and jihadis from everywhere they were embedded. That’s unfortunate for the Iraqis, but good for us.
