The Chicago stuff though I can't agree with the whole is a pretty good whack at understanding the miracle of this incredible book. The respect that the Prophets had for the sources that came before them was absolute, even when the text contained descriptions and stories that gave them deep pain and made their faith, their people and their ancestors look absolutely terrible. Their care in reporting and copying generation after generation the good, the bad and the ugly made possible for every human to partake of this incredible gift.
