Now, how would one disarm the American population? First of all, federal or state laws would need to make it a crime punishable by a $1,000 fine and one year in prison per weapon to possess a firearm......

The disarmament process would begin after the initial three-month amnesty......

Special squads of police would be formed and trained to carry out the work. Then, on a random basis to permit no advance warning, city blocks and stretches of suburban and rural areas would be cordoned off and searches carried out in every business, dwelling, and empty building. All firearms would be seized. The owners of weapons found in the searches would be prosecuted: $1,000 and one year in prison for each firearm. Clearly, since such sweeps could not take place all across the country at the same time. But fairly quickly there would begin to be gun-swept, gun-free areas where there should be no firearms. If there were, those carrying them would be subject to quick confiscation and prosecution. On the streets it would be a question of stop-and-search of anyone, even grandma with her walker, with the same penalties for "carrying."

The likely underestimate of how many guns are wandering around America runs at 240 million in a population of about 300 million. What was clear last week is that at least two of those guns were in the wrong hands.

My, two guns out of 240 million were in the wrong hands. So approximately 239,999,998 American guns were not involved in the VT shootings.

That is a frightening percentage. Clearly this shows that we must disarm the other 299,999,999 Americans immediately! Oh wait, the shooter wasn't even a US citizen. I guess all 300 million of us law-abiding American gun owners should feel guilty and turn them in.

Regulations Against Jews’ Possession of Weapons
11 November 1938

With a basis in § 31 of the Weapons Law of 18 March 1928 (Reichsgesetzblatt I, p. 265), Article III of the Law on the Reunification of Austria with Germany of 13 March 1938 (Reichsgesetzblatt I, p. 237), and § 9 of the Fuhrer and Chancellor’s decree on the administration of the Sudeten-German districts of 1 October 1928 (Reichsgesetzblatt 1, p. 1331 ) are the following ordered:

§ 1
Jews (§ 5 of the First Regulations of the German Citizenship Law of 14 November 1935, Reichsgesetzblatt 1, p. 1332) are prohibited from acquiring. Possessing, and carrying firearms and ammunition, as well as truncheons or stabbing weapons. Those now possessing weapons and ammunition are at once to turn them over to the local police authority.

§ 2
Firearms and ammunition found in a Jew’s possession will be forfeited to the government without compensation.
§ 3
The Minister of the Interior may make exceptions to the Prohibition in § 1 for Jews who are foreign nationals. He can entrust other authorities with this power.

§ 4
Whoever willfully or negligently violates the provisions of § 1 will be punished with imprisonment and a fine. In especially severe cases of deliberate violations, the punishment is imprisonment in a penitentiary for up to five years.

§ 5
For the implementation if this regulation, the Minister of the Interior waives the necessary legal and administrative provisions.

§ 6
This regulation is valid in the state of Austria and in the Sudeten-German districts.

I agree with you there won't be much fighting back. People will not be blockaded in their houses firing down on the swat team, although there will be some of that.

What there will be are hunting trips. Some will decide it is time to get out that list. Various politicians, media figures, "do-gooders," local liberal loudmouths, and all of the families and staff will be in danger. Time will be of the essence once the plan is out. The JBT's can't get every gun at once, and that is to the advantage of gun owners.

Also with the internet, names addresses and other info on the gun grabbers will spread very quickly. After a few targets are hit, many of the others will have second thoughts.

This career diplomat, Dan Simpson, worked for the State Department's Foreign Service for 35 years (Johnson to Bush 43). He is not important enough in the Establishment scheme to warrant membership in the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), though he might be a member of the World Affairs Council of Pittsburgh, the local affiliate of the CFR. This man is far from a top tier liberal, but rather what the Soviets would have called an apparatchik.

The problem with past Republican Presidents, even Reagan, is that none have cleared the Federal government of the permanent government of liberals and leftists in the high ranks in the civil service. While Simpson is apparently not as despicable as Joseph Wilson or Valerie Plame, he obviously has the same statist, collectivist mentality and anti-GOP, anti-conservative bias as the latter. If the Republicans hold on to the White House next year, the new President must be a man who will clear the Augean stables of the liberal filth that has polluted them since the days of Franklin Roosevelt.
