Are these like the guys who yelled at a girl I know through a megaphone, saying that she was a sinful whore because sinfulness is proportional to bust size?
(There’s reasons we science and engineering types stay away from that side of campus, lol.)
Mind you, I’m a Missionary Baptist, we’re as conservative as they come, but that sort of nonsense ain’t nowhere in any Bible I’ve ever seen.
These guys will come out every few weeks and shout abuse at people for several hours, calling them whores, drug users, pornographers, etc, without once mentioning the name of Jesus Christ. I often wonder if they are not trying to do drive people away from the loving arms of God, because I cannot imagine a more effective way of doing so.
That isn’t to say that these guys were doing that, or that the police would have been justified in any way for bothering them, but I can see how someone might be afraid of a violent disturbance arising in such a situation and reacting poorly on account of it.
Well, someting tells me they these good people may "know their own Bible" better than you give them credit for.
"Go to the people of all nations and make them my disciples----and teach them to do everything I have told you." (Mathew 28:19)
"preach the word; be ready in season and out of season, (when it's popular or unpopular); reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction (2 Timothy 4:2),
"And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?" (Romans 10:14)
"What I tell you in secret, shout from the rooftops." (Mathew 10:27)
"These things command and teach:" (I Timothy 4:11)
"Till I come, attend unto reading, to exhortation and to doctrine." (I Timothy 4:13)
See my post #4, muzzies will convert you at the point of a gun, Christians, they offer the Word, you get to choose.
No takers? TIme to move on to ‘greener pastures’.
Out here.
Constantine XIII, Your post has nothing to do with what happened or with the Christians who were there that day.
Hey, whoa, hold your horses, brother! ;)
The post was meant to underline the fact that before we start condemning folks as Bad People (tm), we need to make sure that we’ve got all of the facts straight. Would it not foolish to always take what “some guy on tha intarweb” says at face value, especially if it is inflammatory? Also, history shows that not everyone who claims to march under the banner of the Cross is reflecting the gospel of love. A good example of these would be the characters who show up at my school periodically and shout abuse at passersby, but never once mention Christ or His crucifixion and ressurection.
Some people seem to like the sound of their own voice. Trolling in real life, if you will.
This behavior can attract large and unruly crowds, and if that large unruly crowd posed a safety hazard the campus authorities were well within their rights to ask these folks to leave their property.
LOL, all of this would have been clearer if you had indicated that you are the author of the piece. XD
My apologies!
“Free speech area”?
What is a free speech ‘area’? I thought the US Constitution applied throughout these United States, not in selected areas. And if so, when did the LEOs begin enforcing these areas with force of arms?
I am rapidly losing respect for those who wear the uniform of a police officer. If they willingly enforce laws that are blatently unConstitutional because it is their ‘job’, then they are no better than Mao’s thugs who murdered millions. Or Stalin’s. Or Hitler’s.
Uphold the US Constitution at all cost. It is what authorizes our government to exist. Without it...
It is merely a totalitarian regime with no legal authority.
