Ok, lemme float this idea out there for general consumption...

Lets say this all goes down...And “our” personal information is somehow collected by the government...For whatever nefarious purpose...

Obviously the vehicle for this collection is based upon a gun-control bill...

Logically you must realize the government already has your personal information already on you...Its been like that for years...

If the offensive nature about this bill is that it is being collected based upon provisions in a gun-control bill...That is certainly cause to be concerned...But what is it you think they’ll do with this information (that they already have to begin with)...

Is the threat based upon the correlation between your personal information, and that you may have guns??? Is that what this could be construed as???

I’m not surprised, and yet I do value the privacy of my fellow gunowners and their opinions on this...

Of course I see the smoke, but someone show me where the real fire is on this thing...

Are you saying that the government already knows the make, model, serial number of every gun I own? Even those purchased privately?

The whole point is - the government, by this law and those in the future built on it, would provide a complete list of all firearms owned - thus, you pigeon hole some away for a "rainy" day - they will "Know" and you will be in deep doo when they come to confiscate and you don't give them up.

Oh for pete’s sake. Just have all these libertarians and Const. Party guys and gals remember to vote Pub in ‘08. This bill will never get just a voice vote. McConnell is too smart for that. Why do you think Byrd has run the joint for so long? He knows the rules of the Senate.

I suspect that the only flames you'll find are in the lamps burning the midnight oil over at the GOA's fundraising department. Let's see now... We've got:

Yup, sounds like a GOA fundraiser.
