Cheney has an extremely impressive resume. Hunter does not. He's not a bad guy, he's just is not ready to be one heartbeat away from the Presidency.

And Newt is toxic. Rightly of wrongly, he's the poster boy for a certain negative attitude many people have about the GOP.

both Hunter and Gingrich would bring votes to a Thompson campaign that wouldn’t necessarily fall to the former Senator in my opinion.

I’m not ‘advocating’ here, just noting any of the three I listed would bring votes.

I was under the same general impression about Hunter you seem to hold, about a year ago. I’ve since paid attention to his voting record, and his on record statements.

He’d do just fine.

When you remember just how rare it is for a VP too take over the Presidency...you don’t get too caught up in the ‘heartbeat away’ drama queen stuff.

Just my opinion.
