Congressional Republicans Who Cross the President Pay a Price Back Home (PAYBACK Time!)

Risky Business

Some congressional Republicans who have broken ranks with the president over the Iraq war are finding it to be far riskier than national opinion polls might suggest. The Washington Post reports Maryland's Wayne Gilchrest — a Marine who saw combat in Vietnam — and who voted for the war funding bill with the troop withdrawal timetable — has been called a coward and a traitor during town hall meetings back in his district.

And constituents in Bob Inglis' South Carolina home district were so furious after he voted for the non-binding resolution opposing the president's troop surge — that local GOP officials are considering an effort to find a primary challenger for the next election. Inglis apparently got the message — he voted against the bill with the troop withdrawal timetable.

It isnt an edict from President Bush ,as this headline suggests ,that is making people look to RINO’s as lepers.

It is the people who read and observe Republican RINO’s in action that is hurting them. RINO’s make their own beds when they lie down with democrat liberals and their treasonous investigations actions and bills that are in opposition to what is right for the United States.

Being a Marine in VietNam does not forever give you a free pass to join with Democrats to destroy America. If Gilchrist wants to act like John Murtha let him take the heat for his mistakes. Maryland Republicans didnt elect him so he could vote with idiot cut and run Democrats.

The people who elected him are telling him he is wrong,if he is stupid enough not to listen to them, let him face them next time he runs for office.

Something has to be done to send a message to these idiots. The majority of Americans may not want us over in Iraq, BUT they sure as shinola don't want us to lose the war or surrender!

I don't care what these prix say or how bogusly infuriated they may get...If you want to cut & run you're unpatriotic and you do not support the troops!

I wish the RINO’s would go to the Democrat Party where they belong. That includes Rudy, McCain.

Wayne Gilchrest Was my congressman.. I live in his district. I will vote for a bottom feeding sucker fish before I will ever vote for this POS again. He should move out of his office in Chestertown. (behind the Dunkin donuts shop on High Street), just in case any one wants to know.... Kent County is very conservative and as a veteran of the Vietnam war, I suffered from the abuse caused by people like him.. God he makes me sick......

I’m not surprised by this, with General Pelosi’s making time for a terror supporter like Assad - but not making time for the President or our commander in Iraq, plus Reid’s ‘war is lost’ comments, you knew some blowback was going to hit sooner or later.

Wayne Gilchrest Was my congressman.

Gilchrest and the other pro-defeat Republican congressman were the 2 votes which enabled the surrender bill to pass the House in the first place (the vote was 218 to 216). These two individuals deserve all of the scorn that we can heap unto them for their actions.

I have far more respect for the Democrats who broke rank with Gen. Pelosi and voted against this bill, than I ever will for Gilchrest and the other Republican who voted for it.

I, like many others, am watching the “Rhino” republicans. Any time I see a name that fits the bill, I send e-mails to friends from his area and attempt to let them no “ a no vote is the best help they can give their country.” The last election purged our system of some of the “Rhino’s” and by the looks of it there are more to come. No money & a no vote will get the ear of the GOP every time.

It was called Election 2006. They still don't get it! 2 years ago people were celebrating the demise of the Democraps. now it looks like the Repub-I CAN'Ts are the once self-destructing. The GOP is becoming DOA!
