>>Being anti-royalty is an insult to the UK.

Well, they’ll just have to put up with it if the Monarchs want to come over for a visit.

It goes along with the 1st amendment. That’d be the amendment that requires separation of church and state (no monarchs), and also guarantees freedom of speech (so we can poke fun at monarchs).

The freedom to do so is protected by our 1st Amendment.

>>a new one with strong allies and a common cause.

As long as the Royalty stays on your side of the pond, that’s fine.

Over here the leaders are secular - not ordained.

I don’t think you’re helping your cause. Whatever that is.

There are reasons we do not have ordained monarchs in the government of this country. The purpose of THIS country's government is NOT to serve as an instrument for imposing the will of a ruler.

Remember these: Protection against cruel and unusual punishment, Right to a speedy trial, Safeguards against illegal search and seizure, Right to Privacy, Right to bear arms?

NONE of them existed under the King and every one of these INALIENABLE rights is under attack from within our own, increasingly centrist, government.

Just how much more constitutional shredding is the Orwellian perpetual war on terror going to be used to justify?

Our government is sliding towards what we declared independence from over 200 years ago and those within that government need to STOP and remember what the PURPOSE of government is - and that is TO PRESERVE THE RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS OF THE GOVERNED. PERIOD.

Got Tyranny?

>>Just dang foreigners!

From the FR home page:

“to champion causes which further conservatism in America”

America.

Does Britain have a Free Republic?

No? Well, we’ll share ours with you foreigners as long as you clean up after yourselves when you go home. Please do be sure not to leave anything behind, especially your monarchy.

wow....we could have used you back in 1776! (not a criticism at all....people with your passion is exactly what made us the great country we are today)

(btw...loved your "global warming happening again" chart on your home page...took the liberty of sending it to my boss...who tends to listen to the MSM and is in desperate need of enlightenment!)

Very true...but that doesnt mean that people aren’t going to be offended by it. I’ve read what many on these boards feel about flag-burning.

Same with the UK. Anyone is free to mock, ridicule or rubbish the Queen. Doesn’t mean there aren’t people who are going to be upset about it though.

‘From the FR home page

America.’

So how does rubbishing the monarchy of a foreign country further conservatism in America?

“Our government is sliding towards what we declared independence from over 200 years ago and those within that government need to STOP and remember what the PURPOSE of government is - and that is TO PRESERVE THE RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS OF THE GOVERNED. PERIOD.”

A frightening thought occurs. Perhaps if this “slide towards tyranny” is going on, and seems to be going on all the time, and all over the world, then it implies that those rights are not “inalienable” but preserved solely by the will of the free. Perhaps the US republic is a blip on an otherwise pretty bleak picture of how Humanity usually rules itself.
Not a comfortable thought to go to sleep on.

Yeah, like the British monarchy hasn’t changed its spots in 200 years.

Even aside from that point, it’s not like we were fighting Stalinists.

And even aside from those points, even if there is still something sinister in the British monarchy (which there isn’t), what conceivable danger does it, or American respect for the British monarch, actually pose to us?

In short: What are you smoking?

[Perhaps the US republic is a blip on an otherwise pretty bleak picture of how Humanity usually rules itself.]

Human nature is what it is. The price of freedom is eternal vigilance.

Are the self evident truths referred to in the Declaration of Independence still self evident today? I think they are.

[Not a comfortable thought to go to sleep on.]

Comfort is overrated.

Nothing. Certainly not the opium that the British tried to force upon the Chinese.
