I am on Free Republic constantly every single day, but the loss of Radio Astronomer was news to me and has shocked me to the core.
There are some Freepers that have earned my respected over the years, and this was one of them.
There are times like these, that I simply want to cry. What has happened to the Free Republic that I have loved for almost 10 years now?
For me, there is some good news to report: At the www.darwincentral.org website, I have found some old and highly respected Freepers once again, and they have been sorely missed.
>>Thats the best picture Ive seen of it.
Thanks!<<
Its an amazing star - so much bigger than our sun and its already given off as much visible light as a supernova - some sources call it the doomed star.
I read a little about it and caught some reference to ‘anti matter’.
What was that all about?
I haven’t seen that - I’ll have to read more.
It’s only seen from the southern hemisphere. It’s near the constellation called the Southern Cross. When it does explode, any ill effects from the radiation would hit the southern hemisphere harder than the northern. Pray for the penguins.

Now THAT caused a ROFL! :D
I just learned that R_A was banned.
I am a newbie compared to you, but I think that the quality of posts and of debate has dropped dramatically, and there seems to be a new level of coarseness and nastiness here. I valued FR as a great battle place of ideas, but it can't be a great battle place without great competitors. FR is JR's baby, and obviously he can do whatever he wants with it, but I think the purge was a disastrous mistake.
