Lastly, what does a conservative Christian (Catholic) Ohio boy need to know about life in Florida?

Don’t move south of Orlando. Florida is actually two states: South Florida and North Florida.

I have to agree. South Florida was beautiful when I was a kid -- thirty years ago. But these days it's all liberals, concrete and traffic. I lived in Miami from '92 to '94 and it was pretty hellish -- and I could be wrong, but real estate ain't cheap, especially down there. Good Cuban food though, and more cosmopolitan culture.

We've lived in the Orlando area since '02 and we love it. Sure, it's kind of frumpy, but there is a sizeable Conservative presence (not too mention a little more protection from the hurricanes by being dead center in the state.) Freep mail me if you have any specific questions.

That is becoming less true everyday. I have family in Ocala and trust me, South Florida is moving north of Central Florida faster than you think.

I am a Catholic living in Florida. I use to live in Ft. Lauderdale, couldn’t wait to get out. I live in Port Saint Lucie now for about 12 years. It is starting to get busy now. As far as getting any real estate for that amount of money you would have to go north of Orlando. Ocala, Wilston, Inverness places like that. You can’t even find 5 acres in Ft. Lauderdale or in the immediate areas around there. Florida does have many Catholic Churches. Its funny your moving from Ohio to Florida, My sister and brother moved from Florida to Ohio. They are not to happy about their liberal Governor and Senator.
