Rather than interfere in the policies of other sovereign nations I prefer the method of building a military defense shield that quietly says, “Attack me and you will instantly become just a memory.” A quiet, sincere warning that we will follow through with!.

No long drawn out debates with their ambassadors or the vote counts at the UN Council, just an immediate big bang with not a single penny of reconstruction money.

Then we sit back and say, “They were warned not to mess with the US and they chose not to listen. Now they have paid the price. Who’s next?”

I wish the American people would do the same to our legislators who refuse to listen to us. We need to figure out a way to quietly give them a sincere warning.

40,000 men with no bullets in our guns would make an impression.

I would prefer it if Islamism did not exist and if Muslims did not believe in conquering the world. I would prefer it if communist China were not trying to become an evil hegemon.
However, I live in the real world.

This is a reasonable perspective. I think we're already past the point where "instant memories" are reasonable, but then again, I value my own people more than anything else in the world. It's old-fashioned, I know.

I think we're reasonable to demand an end to proliferation. Maybe this is a sliver of globalism left in me, but I think the future will be brighter without additional countries joining the nuclear and/or WMD club. I find it extremely ironic that Free Republic advocated George W. Bush as a WMD-hunter extraordinare, yet Iran and the DPRK may have already gone nuclear by the time he's out of office. I can't tell the difference between this and the last administration, given the fact that both had Iraq in their sights. But I digress. We have the means to erradicate our enemies. We just don't seem to love our own people enough to do it.

I wish the American people would do the same to our legislators who refuse to listen to us.

MAD isn't working with them. Trouble is, they're elected. They represent us. Think about that long and hard. As an aside, remember that it took a statesman like Themistocles to trick the Greeks into preparing for the second war with Persia. Free people would rather pursue wealth than defend themselves, or their liberties. Left to their own devices, they'll let Athens fall every time. MAD wasn't Themistocles' method. He found a motivation the people liked (conquest) and had them build ships with their new wealth, promising that they'd become even richer (which they did, as far as I know). But the ships were there when the Greeks needed to fight the Persians again, just as Themistocles had predicted.

Dick Morris is right. And I'll take it a step further. Demographics are against democratic resolution to the crisis before English-speaking Americans. You talk MAD, the people are against you. In 1775, they were with the Minute Men. Now they're against them. Demographics are for real. So is 60 years of multicultural propaganda spewed in order to prove to the world that we're not now, nor ever would be fascist (something we never needed to prove anyway). It has taken a toll, my friend.

My challenge for you: are we ready to face the facts? We must before we continue working to save our country. Ignoring these facts will simply translate into invalid action.

I could live with that.

Stop trying to use logic or make sense. This is an emotional issue and you are not supposed to think so much. ;-)

I have the feeling that our current crop of traitors in the Senate would hardly notice anything quiet or sincere.
