One doesn’t know the meaning of “is”.
Another can’t see a pig in a poke to save his reputation.

They only pay attention to us when they run for office.

Teddy Roosevelt, Dwight Eisenberg, Ronald Reagan and perhaps Harry Truman were the only great Presidents in the 20th Century up to the present. They had their faults - no one is perfect. But their hearts and minds were in the right place - which is NOT what you can say for the rest of of them, including the current incumbent.
