Selling advertising time isn't all that good these days and the network biggies don't want to get involved in sponsor pressure or consumer boycotts just for this lesbian lard zeppelin.
Moreover, Barbara Walters doesn't want to end her long career as a producer, reporter, interviewer, etc. being remembered as a willing enabler of a deranged loose cannon who's futzing up her show.
No, Rosie just kept pushing the envelope and it finally dropped over the edge. In my opinion, she's now radioactive in the biz and will never get a gig again with quite the cachet, exposure and platform of "The View".

I think Rosie and the controversy affected the quality of guests willing to appear on that stupid show.
In just the last few weeks since I’ve started paying attention to who visits the View, all I’ve seen are boring, b-list, has-beens and assorted, lesser ABC (the View’s network) stars who probably, under contract, must oblige.
No movie stars with a major motion picture premiering, no hot-selling musicians with a chart-topper, no best-selling authors, zip.
