River rat, to answer your email question, this is what I did:

You can buy wooden thread spools at hobby stores. You can also find screw cover caps that cover the screw heads.

Excellent idea!
I love simple solutions - especially the ones that don’t cost much money.

I’m going to try to find spools of varying sizes to handle different pistol geometry and mass — and to allow the addition of a large rubber band from spool to spool to prevent accidental dislodgement during “harsh” door closure.

Without rubber band restraints, have you had any incidents of a pistol falling?
