I am one of those Americans who would do “that” job. I worked in a kitchen, with a bunch of illegals. They would support the other latinos, but not the “anglos”.
The “anglos” ended up doing twice as much work as the latinos. They made it so difficult to do our work that eventually the anglos would quit. Then the illegals would get another buddy hired. When they had half the staff they walked into the boss’ office and demanded a $2 raise, or they all walked.
When it came time for review I told the boss I wouldn’t work for $2 less and hour than the 19 year old kid who didn’t know the difference between an onion, a scallion a shallot and a chive.
I walked and have been out of the labor market since (began my own business). So, this crap about “jobs Americans won’t do” “for less money” is horse hockey.
Doesn`t your story kinda prove my horse hockey point. You left the kitchen and started a business. How many Anglos applied for your job?
