The third three-plus earthquake in the last two days just rumbled through the Southern California desert. The latest, a 4.2 event was near Indio, California, and was felt more than 100 miles away in northern San Diego County.
i felt it.
it was noisy.
That’s not bad.
It’s good for those faults, especially that one, to let off a bit of steam, so to speak.
Tonight? Nothing in Burbank. Been watching Heroes on NBC.com

bump
it was quick,
and sharp,
and loud.
All three of the 3-plusses look to me to be on or near that section of the San Andreas that runs across the border then into the gulf of Mexico.
Are those the Ocotillo Wells quakes? I have been getting the emails on those.
Yep, this is that time of year (or so it seems).
wow, that is a big felt map
“Gulf of Mexico”
Make that the Gulf of California!!!
Sheesh! That’d be one heck of a left turn!
The “big ones” statistically always occur within 3 days of a full moon, which BTW way yesterday.
Glad I paid my California Earthquake insurance last week.
There was a spoonbender on Kook-To-Kook AM last week who predicted the Big One sometime in the next 2 weeks. :/
Oh, we need that guy that is always on Art Bell to chime in.
missing cats and dogs, full moon, high tide....
He hasnt been on lately.
Jim Berkland
Was he on last week?
All I see on his site is someone talking about the dead whale floating under the Golden Gate bridge....
a sure sign of impending doom no doubt
Was he on last week?
He may have been, he is on every once and awhile,,
his site is http://www.syzygyjob.com/index.php
Maybe he’s missing...
About one o’clock, there was a 3.2 about 25 miles E. of Calexico, which’d be about the right location. The other one’s the 3.9 in Ocotillo yesterday which, come to think of it, is probably more likely the Laguna Salada fault.

Give it time...
I heard a report the dead whale is a gray and not a humpback so the 2 that swam up the sacramento delta are probably ok for now.
I bet they felt it at the Salton Sea...
I heard a seismologist (is that correct?) on the radio the other night say that he expects a fair sized one to hit the Los Angeles area in June. Maybe the bay area too.
Wish I could remember his name.
Anyway, can’t wait to see if he called it right.
You have to wonder whether we've just spawned a whole new sub-species of humpback with no sense of direction, though. Years ago, up in Humboldt, they released some farm-raised Salmon in a little creek in a residential area. They swam out to sea, and all was well until it came time to return home to spawn. For the last several years the locals have had to go drag the flipping' Salmon out of the stream and move them over to the river. If we get six whales in the Delta next year, we'll know Darwin was right.
LOL I read that and thought to myself “gee, I didn’t know the San Andreas ran all the way to the G of M. I’ll be darned”.
It's still better than the recent tornado in KS. Sure glad I left those tornados to come to CA and earthquakes.
I have never heard him before...and exorcist!
Is there a handy-dandy chart of translations for those site locations somewhere?
Maybe that’s the one I heard the other evening. Wasn’t paying a whole lot attention, but the station was KFI.

Erie
The Big One
Hillary Clinton
Name a lake, a quake and a fake.
Jean Dixon?
Jim Berkland was also on the show on the 30th of May. He saw some shaking on the horizon too, but not like what the first guy predicted.
Nah, wasn’t him. I know that guy.
Somebody posted that there was one on “kook-to-kook AM” the other night. Probably him. :)
I suppose their chances of getting it right are about the same tho.
Careful there......if you keep poppin' the clueless pills by the handful, some are gonna start to wonder about you.
YOU can’t wait to see if someone correctly predicted a catastrophic earthquake (do you say “Oh Darn!” if they were wrong) but I’M clueless? Earthquake predictors are as accurate as psychics.
One would need a chainsaw and a month's free time to cut through the denseness and the thickness that has infested this forum.
I wasn’t paying close attention, but I did hear him say that we were due for a big one.
I don’t listen to radio at night so that show was new to me. Is the guy full of beans? Kind of along the lines of Art Bell?
It's laughable.
My last statement was clear as mud. I was refering to the radio guy and The Amazing Kreskin having equal chances to predict an earthquake.
I think that’s what I meant. It’s late. I’m tired. It’s time to call it a night. :)
Non Ping,
It is a Blue Moon however.
If we are going to have a big hit my throw of the dice is Portland Downtown Oregon 6.2
Nothin’ to see here.
