See if this doesn’t describe Paris perfectly. I truly feel sorry for her, and think that she is in for a life of misery.
Her only hope is this kind of “tough love”, and lots of long term psychiatric care. Even with both, her chances are not very good.

I have thought that she is a narcissist and wonder if her psychiatrist is even aware (or cares). If so, I don’t believe she would ever truly be at risk of suicide. My ex fits a lot of the traits, too, and no way he would ever off himself- he’s his biggest fan.
I’ve noticed that narcissism goes hand in hand with bi-polar disorder.
You’ll go nuts dealing with someone with that combination :(
