-—”The status quo is de facto amnesty — fact,” the Arizona senator said. “So for us to do nothing and celebrate the fact that we stopped this legislation, well then those who have a better idea can give it to us. We can consider it and move forward.”-—
Build the fence. Go after employers who hire illegals.

The status quo wouldn’t be defacto amnesty IF THE GOVERNMENT DID ITS DAMN JOB AND ENFORCED THE LAW. Beware: This is their new talking point, a phrase we will hear over and over again in the coming days. It is NOT TRUE. DOES NOT REFLECT REALITY. All the pro-bill people are both sides already are using it. I heard it eight times this morning, already. The REAL status quo is ignoring the law.

I have an idea. How can we possible consider amnesty when Mexico “offically” won’t back us on the war with Iraq. Mexico joined the ranks of Iran, Cuba, Saudi Arabia on the vote.

("The status quo is de facto amnesty")
As much as I respect McCain for his military service and enduring
his time in The Hanoi Hilton...
it sounds like he learned something from his North Vietnamese
holders about using "scare tactics" to get somebody to do something
against their best interests.
What an inglorious way for McCain to slime himself.

I suppose they could try enforcing the law.

Good. Let it. This new bill, Senator, is amnesty too. When any law gives illegals status to where they cannot be deported, that is de facto amnesty.
We are still not buying this pig, Senator. Not even with the new shade of lip-gloss.

Hey Johnny, nobody is forcing the illegals to stay here.
Why don’t you start using that bus of yours “The Straight Jacket Express”
to haul them back from whence they came?

""The status quo is de facto amnesty -- fact," the Arizona senator said. "So for us to do nothing and celebrate the fact that we stopped this legislation, well then those who have a better idea can give it to us. We can consider it and move forward." Build a fence then deport the illegals!!

I have an idea. How about ENFORCING the laws we already have instead of making a bunch of NEW laws that, like the old laws will NOT be enforced.

They could build the fence

Build a fence
'Alright! I'll build the damn fence, if that is what you want.'
[Isn't that about what McCain said in a rant a few weeks ago?].
So, Senator, to quote Larry The Cable Guy, "Git'er done!"

McCain/Feinstein/Bush/Kennedy/Reid/Graham: If we don't do anything, it's amnesty. So I'm going to solve the problem -- by granting amnesty.
This proves that these elitist scum think the electorate are morons.

Make English the ONLY language allowed for ANY Ballot, governmental form or action, MANDATE PROOF of U.S Citizenship to cast ANY ballot from the local level up through federal.
Then you can bring parts of the current bill back up.

"The status quo is de facto amnesty -- fact," the Arizona senator said. The fact is, after being a traitor for 20 years, McCain wants to make the invasion a complete defeat for America, by surrendering to the invaders.
Remember when sworn oaths used to mean something? I guess not to traitors.
U.S. Constitution, Article 4 Section 4:
"The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government,
and shall protect each of them against Invasion;"
Invasion: \In*va"sion\, n. [L. invasio: cf. F. invasion. See Invade.] [1913 Webster]
1. The act of invading; the act of encroaching upon the rights or possessions of another; encroachment; trespass.

There will never be amnesty if we as US citizens bear the responsibility our leaders are shirking.
Are we going to offer words and contentious words as out leaders are offering or are we going to be responsible?
