Mcnutts is so out of touch with what the majority of Americans want. Lock down the border. Hey mcnutts, we dont believe “you” have “our” best interest at heart.
IMO, the vast majority opposing unsecured borders and amnesty for illegal aliens remind me of the citizens of New Orleans during the hurricane Katrina: Waiting for the government to take care of them and whining when it doesn’t.
Deport the workers and their families will follow.

hey John MC Cain, who you counting on ? Republicans ? The drive by media? Arizona republicans?
What a poor example of management when you cannot accurately answer the above questions.
What I’d like Bush or McCain or somebody who pushed this turkey of a bill to explain is how they’re going to guarantee that the various “enforcement” provisions are going to be carried out. The twenty-four hour background checks, the fines, the requirement that illegals return to their home countries and apply, etc.
Many American citizens who have been trying to get passports so they can come back into the country legally when they travel have been waiting for ten months or more and they still haven’t gotten a passport. If the bureaucracy can’t manage to get legal citizens a passport, how are they going to enforce the stuff Bush/McCain have been trying to ram down our throats?
Who is going to administer all of the supposed “tough” enforcement provisions? I’d bet nobody. It’s all a fraud including the promise of a fence. The guys that gave us the federal response to Katrina, the Iraq post war debacle, and all of the other incompetence can’t be trusted on this, either.
Maybe we should learn that if a man cannot be trusted by his first wife to remain as loyal to her as she was to him while in the Hanoi Hilton, we cannot trust him to be loyal to his constituants or even his country.
A standard intimidation tactic is to accuse the other guy of one of your own faults.
“He spoke after a town hall event in Newton, where immigration dominated discussion and McCain spent much time defending the stalled proposal. Opponents of the legislation, he said, are not listening to the public.”
No John, the Ivory Tower Elitists in Washington are NOT listening to the public.
If only we could have this brand of zeal with spending reform, energy policy, SS reform, etc. The “wage depression lobby” must have their balls in a vice.
You nailed it. Since nothing on our current immigration laws is enforced currently, what are the chances anything in the crazy bill would be enforced? A one-day background check or their visa is automatically approved?? ONE DAY? To find out everything about some foreigner who may not be presenting his own papers? Um, yeah, that was a good idea. I believe Osama bin Laden could have gotten a Z visa under this plan.
I met McCain and his wife last year on election night. After seeing him today I'd say he is in trouble physically. The side of his face around his jaw is huge compared to what it was like last year. The "word" from McCains people is that this is apparently from "scarring" from the cancer operation. That seems odd because they operated on the side of his temple which is way above the jaw.
If McCain had any sense (he doesn't) he'd grab a bowl full of viagra and go home to his wife (she is hot).
These people are out to steal our country!!
This is the one thing that is really funny when some political moron says it. How do you do a background check on a ghost or someone who is from Mexico or South America. You can't even do a comprehensive background check on an American citizen unless you hand search every county and parrish (if is still there) record. The various state databases are seriously lacking in areas and that means the feds criminal history system is too.
I'm starting to wonder if these politico bozos are not freaking out that they know they have let the bad guys in and we are in for some big trouble. And this is there way of trying to make it look like they are doing something.
FYI, 4 years ago the Dept. of Homeland Security was giving local law enforcement seminars where they showed them what the various components of MANPADS look like. That was 4 years ago! Back then they suspected the bad guys were smuggling surface to air devices in to the US. But they still left the borders open!
Another couple of talking points I’m hearing:
“This immigration debate is made to order for a bunch of angry white men listening to talk radio.”
We should make it a point to have women legal immigrants shout these clowns down. They will do it with pleasure. The ones who did it by the rules are maddest about the scoff-laws.
“It is impossible to deport 20 million people”
We should start by enforcing the laws, making it clear that those breaking the laws will NEVER get citizenship. Make it clear that illegals do not qualify for benefits in any way. Then let the chips fall where they may. Mexico sure found a way to get rid of 20 million people.
Stow it, "senator." Sick of your lying BS.
Time’s up.
Enforcement provisions are even more difficult to explain when you remember that Congress only appropriates for one year at a time, (if and when it does approriate for enforcement measures, the bill is only promises to do thus and such, no actual appropriations to do thus and such). So anything they promise to do and appear to do will only be good for one year.
“Maybe we should build a bunch of these”
Nooooooo LP
If you build it they will come...
We dont want them to come, we want them to go... home...
Build those Home Depots in Mexico City...
:)
Why is time running out on building the fence and setting up a workable system to monitor, track, and deport visa overstays? Isn’t this a national security issue? It has been almost six years since 9/11 and essentially nothing has been done.
