Yes, Juan: we can enforce our laws. Build a 2,000 mile border fence. Eliminate federal funding for sanctuary cities. Deny social services and welfare benefits to illegals. Pay for them to leave our country. We don't have to put up with de facto amnesty if we began doing something to secure our borders. The alternative isn't surrender.

That's how I taught my kids the difference between conservative, moderate and liberal. The conservative would rather do nothing (or find something creative) than perform some feel-good action to assuage his emotions. The liberal just wants to do something; anything; no matter that the result of his actions will be worse than the original evil. The moderate will usually step in and say, in a chiding voice: "Gentlemen! There's no need to squabble! We'll use half the gasoline!"
