McConnell is in an awkward position. The President wants him to push this bill, the Senators are divided, and the Republican bases is on the warpath. He seems to be trying to talk about the bill while saying as little as possible.

I can cut him some slack for that...but it is time for him to hear us roar.

I plan to tell him that the choice is not between this bill and the status quo...there are other options, like securing the borders using the laws already on the books.

And, for the record, I believe ‘defacto amnesty’ is better than that actually amnesty in this bill in three ways.

1. Defacto amnesty does not reward illegal entry into the US with citizenship.

2. Defacto amnesty does not allow those who entered the country illegally to legally bring in 4 of their closest relatives.

3. Defacto amnesty is does make the American taxpayers forever responsible for the illegals.

And what is more, defacto amnesty still allows the American citizen hope that eventually the United States government will wake up and pass a bill that favors the American taxpayer over illegal immigrants.

Call/email/fax/write. Keep those cards and letters going, folks.

From what I heard McConnell was the one who started the whole thing in the first place.
