Their lives in limbo, they fight to stay(Barf)
Boston Globe ^ | June 12, 2007 | Yvonne Abraham

Early most weekday mornings, groups of immigrants from New Bedford pile into donated vans and make the journey north to Greater Boston Legal Services in downtown Boston. Fueled by coffee and doughnuts on a recent day, a dozen of them crammed into the advocacy group's tiny reception area, waiting for their harried lawyers to see them. They are among the 361 workers arrested and accused of being here illegally in a raid on a New Bedford leather goods factory March 6.

This factory had a military contract. If he stated in his bid that he was going to pay a certain wage to legal workers then that’s War Profiteering. Throw the book at him too. Everyone else...adios!

Who pays for Greater Boston Legal Services? Does some of their funding come from the legal system (interest on funds held in escrow by the court)? If so, why are illegals receiving court funds?

Oh, puleez. As if we really wanted these idiots. The other 349 were at least smart enough to skip town.

So a publicly funded organization, Greater Boston Legal Services, is using taxpayers’ money to stymie the enforcement of our immigration laws. This makes me want to puke.

I don’t think Greater Boston Legal Services is publicly funded.I read through(quickly) their 2005 annual report. It looks like its funded through donations.

I thought they received some state and federal money. Every other public advocacy groups like that in the country does. So what you're telling me is Massachusetts lawyers and other donors are providing funds to ensure our laws are not enforced? Almost as bad. (Insert shark joke here.)

I found this quote from the president of GBLS which hints that they get state money from the state legislature: " So on behalf of everyone at Greater Boston Legal Services, I thank the Mass Bar Association and all its members for supporting this work. You support us with funding through the Mass Bar Foundation, through contributions from your firms and from your own pockets, through the thousands of hours you devote to pro bono work for our clients, through supporting our requests to the legislature for more funding and above all by standing up publicly for the ideal of equal access to justice in our adversarial justice system."

Perhaps they are interested in keeping this quiet.

Enforce Immigration Laws!

1. If you migrate to this county, you must speak the native language
2. You have to be a professional or an investor. No unskilled workers allowed.
3. There will be no special bilingual programs in the schools, no special ballots for elections, all government business will be conducted in our language.
4. Foreigners will NOT have the right to vote no matter how long they are here.
5 Foreigners will NEVER be able to hold political office.
6. Foreigners will not be a burden to the taxpayers. No welfare, no food stamps, no health care, or other government assistance programs.
7. Foreigners can invest in this country, but it must be an amount equal to 40,000 times the daily minimum wage.
8. If foreigners do come and want to buy land that will be okay, BUT options will be restricted. You are not allowed waterfront property. That is reserved for citizens naturally born into this country.
9. Foreigners may not protest; no demonstrations, no waving a foreign flag, no political organizing, no bad-mouthing our president or his policies, if you do you will be sent home.
10. If you do come to this country illegally, you will be hunted down and sent straight to jail.

Harsh, you say?
The above laws happen to be the Immigration laws of Mexico!

Adopt the laws of Mexico - Enforce America’s Laws!

Yes, but it means that all of us are undocumented Mexicans, too.

If OBLs can call us racists, bigots and vigilantes, well, then `turn-about is fairplay’.
Illegal aliens are fleas and ticks—blood-sucking parasites/`partisans’—on the American bulldog.
We spread the poor dog’s fur with fingers, they scurry. They won’t leave and Dad says,
“No spray or flea-dip! Forgive them, they need a place to live too. We’ll get him a flea-collar. Maybe, we’ll see.”

So they are innocent?

*sniffle*

This is just so terrible.

Donations are now being accepted to help these poor people.

The proceeds of the donations will buy a house next to John Kerry's to house these poor souls so they will not be burdened with the long van ride every day.
