I’m sorry I never got to meet Tonk when my wife and I drove from Eureka Ca to Coos Bay Ore for some R&R.We drove by the Coast Guard Station at the Marina but I didn’t go in and now I regret it. Eureka is also a Coast Guard City and shared many rescues off the coast with Coos Bay CG.

I'll never forget one of the longest and funniest threads I've ever seen on FR was when that uppety snob tried to bich out ol Tonk for pingin so many FReepers to his posts and threads. It just went on and on and on and got funnier with each reply!

I'm still on the ping list the Alaska person took over from him and has faithfully administered. I first met him on the Battle for the Klamath Falls potato(e) farmers threads here on FR. The man had a fighting spirit, yet was humble and FRiendly!!!

He will be missed!!!
