Does heavy TV viewing push people toward more liberal opinions? Or is it the impact of pre-existing leftist attitudes that lead viewers to invest more of their lives on television?
Analysts may argue about causation, but theres no real doubt about correlation: an important new study from the Culture and Media Institute shows that those who describe themselves as heavy TV viewers embrace distinctly liberal attitudes on a range of crucial issues, placing them well to the left of those who report light TV viewing.

Simple. Nonfunctional minds bombarded by liberal propaganda and disinformation.
Bumping for laughter in the mornin’
Maybe it’s the delusional idea that regardless of the complexity of a problem it can be solved in 1/2 an hour and if it can’t be solved in 1/2 hour then ignore it and it’ll go away!
I like radio a lot more. My theory is that conservative are smart enough to figure things out without all the moving images. For the pre-literate (Muslim world for example) Al Jezeera is very very powerful. People who can read and listen are more rational, less emotional. The more emotional and illogical people need those images that TV provides
Well, yeah. If you lie on the couch all day eating government cheese you get bored and might switch on the set.
If you want more cheese you align yourself with rats.
‘The great TV critic Leo Tolstoy began Anna Karenina with the wise, unforgettable declaration: All happy families are the same, but unhappy families are different in dramatic and compelling ways. ‘

I call my TV the box of lies and if wasn’t for football I would probably get rid of it.
I have the tube on a lot. But I watch very little little network tv. CSI is about the only network show I’ll watch, and I don’t even watch that on a regular basis. Most of my viewing is on the cable networks like the Discovery Channel which has my favorite programs like Mythbusters and Dirty Jobs. A better analysis t would reveal what programs are being watched rather than just the fact that the tube is on.

This is the problem with almost all liberals. The additional problem is their ignorance of “unintended effects” of their “solutions” (welfare debacles) and their incredibly naive thinking that complex systems are static and don’t respond to stimulus. (The reason they can’t understand why raising tax rates is BAD for tax revenues)
Liberals can NOT be trusted with any task more complex than stuffing envelopes.
