Here is my analysis.

I don't think that Junior's problems with winning ever were with the cars or the motors. I believe, as do some experts in print and radio, that Truex is now getting the best hardware from DEI (what would have been going to Junior), and look what he has started doing with it. If Junior is as good a driver as Martin, and I believe he is, I think he could have also done this well with this equipment. So it must have been something else.

I think Junior's follies were either calculated, personal or psychological. And I can see good arguments for all three.

I think everyone at DEI including Junior will put the best face on the rest of the season, but I think Truex will make the Chase this year, and Junior won't. I think even Paul Menard will be getting better cars than Junior for the rest of the year.

One thing we do know. We will be able to see, perhaps by 2009, after Junior has had a year to gel with his new team and owner, how good of a driver is he really. No more excuses.

Personally, I see Truex winning a championship before Junior. Junior is going to be third in line at HMS. Truex is going to be carrying the ball at DEI, and DEI has just joined engine-building with RCR.

But in all the online polls I have seen, that puts me in a clear minority.

You really need to get over the Hendrick hate, or find a new thing to watch on Sundays. Its not healthy.

The anniversary is only one day, so I don’t think Eaker will miss the race.

On a side note - for my birthday I was treated to Taco Bell Drive Thru, for the anniversary it is Dine In at Jack-In-The-Box!!

Ludicrous. You draw an absurd conclusion based on a limited amount of data. Go back and read all my posts from the last three years on this thread, and even then you would not know one-percent of one-percent of my thoughts and feelings.

That could only be true if "hate" were my predominant emotion. It is not. I not only have tremendous affection for some teams and drivers, I have serious respect for all of them except one (#2). Heck, I even respect the #24 and the #48, guys I root against and also drive for Hendrick!

Combined from your posts #100 and #101.....you had your say, now it's my turn.

Because right after that a clearly upset Shrub said he had no idea he was the most expendable at HMS. He had no intention of leaving HMS, everyone at HMS and on his team "were his friends,"

Shrub is, first and foremost, nothing but a no-talent punk. His older brother is too stupid to be a punk, but he never gives up trying.

he had no idea he was the most expendable at HMS...

What a moron. And who consistently trashes the hardware each week? In both series, no less. He must think he is real special. Mears may not be much, but at least he does not put two cars into the wall darn near every weekend.

Ya, your "Rowdy" all right. In your dreams, only in your dreams.

Shrub was fired to make way for Junior.

Ummm...duh! And if you were Rick Hendrick? "Let's see, I can get rid of the hardware wrecking punk and get Dale Jr....??"

What a choice, eh? Dale Jr. has driven junk better than Shrub has with a good car.

Shrub wrecks good equipment, consistently. No talent.

Shrub is a punk. Dale Jr. drove his car to finish a race. That speaks volumes about who has the "drive" and who does not.

I think Junior's follies were either calculated, personal or psychological. And I can see good arguments for all three.

Can ya now? You give Dale Jr a good car and you will see nothing but his ass end. He drives smart, not many do these days. Shrub is still looking for the enrollment paperwork.

That is my take on things!

Jr has more integrity in his little finger than a lot of people.

And how can you say Mr Hendrick is a liar, you don’t know what went on between all of them.

And, personally Jr is worth about 100 shrubs.

Finally, please don’t post anymore Hendrick hate stuff to me. I support my driver 110% everyone here knows that. If he chose Rick Hendrick to drive for I trust his judgement entirely!

The advantage I have, and the basis for my authority on the subject, is that I spent many Saturdays and Sundays competing against Dale Jr. The three to four hours we spend on the track competing together is an advantage most in this debate can not recognize. It is here we measure one another.

Each driver has a distinct personality on the track, part of his driving DNA, so to speak. When you compete together over an extended period of time, you study and learn about one another. Where does this driver run the best? Where is he most vulnerable? Is he predictable? Can I trust him?

You learn the answers to these questions and more about everyone you compete against. It adds up to experience and it enables you to prepare for each lap and each pass, as well as how you go about defending your position, with each particular driver.

Dale Earnhardt Jr., in my opinion, is an exceptional race car driver, the type of driver you feel comfortable racing side-by-side, lap after lap. He has demonstrated the ability to win at NASCAR’s highest level on 17 occasions and is certainly capable, and worthy, of his own Nextel Cup championship trophy.

It appears as though his time has arrived, as well as his opportunity. His signing with Hendrick Motorsports for five years could serve as the end of this debate.

I believe Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s primary benefit to racing with Hendrick Motorsports will be Rick Hendrick himself. What Rick has to offer goes far beyond cars and engines. He is a master at managing personalities and getting the most out of his employees. The regard Rick receives in the garage area is only exceeded by that of his employees at the shops. Dale Jr. will benefit from the coaching and support he appears to need and desire from the boss.

This will help Dale Jr. return to the form that carried him to consecutive Busch championships, and to regain the level of confidence he brought with him to Nextel Cup. This was a period when he had the support and presence of his father. He also will benefit from having two teammates who have captured the championship he desires. They will be tremendous assets, both in terms of support and measure. Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon have brought the best out in one another this year. The two will be a resource that Dale Earnhardt Jr. has not yet had in his career.

Hmm.... if Junior sticks with a red car and it is #5, could it become a Kellogg’s Mini-Wheats car? Or would Kellogg’s come up with a red box scheme for one of its other brands?

And how can you say Mr Hendrick is a liar, you don’t know what went on between all of them.

You asked. From Jayski --

UPDATE 2: On Thursday, it became obvious that the honeymoon was over in relation to Hendrick Motorsports’ signing of Dale Earnhardt Jr. Kyle Busch, the driver Earnhardt Jr. will replace next year, basically called owner Rick Hendrick a liar on a Sirius satellite-radio call-in show. According to Hendrick, he and Busch mutually agreed that leaving the team would be best for both parties. Hendrick also said Busch told him other teams had approached him. A gracious statement was issued in Busch’s name at the same time the press conference announcing Earnhardt’s hiring was taking place. Not so, said Busch. “Well, you know, this is all brand new,” said Busch. “I hadn’t talked or discussed or done anything with any other team. There had been a rumor that flew around that I was unhappy at Hendrick Motorsports, which was untrue. I was just frustrated with the way things were going, that I wasn’ able to get results. We had been running good and been fast everywhere, but we just had some bad luck and were crashing, and whatever. “That rumor started, and then after that rumor, it was that I was getting offers from other teams, which, I had never talked to anybody.” Busch said he hadn’t been given any indication that he wouldn’t be back at Hendrick until Monday.

So the choice is between believing Shrub or Rick Hendrick as to what is the truth. One of them is lying. It seems to me that anyone who approaches this case with their head and not their heart will come to a clear answer.

Wow. That’s a headshaker. It doesn’t behoove Kyle to fling dirt (one way or the other) so it makes sense to me that he is telling it as it is. Fact is, it hurts him with potential owners... but a man’s gotta stand up for himself.

I really don’t know what to say, other than maybe what we got here is silly season at its extreme.

Now don’t take this personal, cause I don’t have a dog in this scrap, and this is an admonition for everybody...

No beer can throwin! I’m Norm’s Bar and Grill bouncer, and I don’t take kindly to folks wastin beer.

As you were... carry on.
