It depends upon the TSA idiot you get. Once, I had a few water bottles left after a 2-week trip. And I always take a water bottle onto the plane with me and I hate having to pay $3 for another bottle of water when I have plenty left over already. So, I took three of the water bottles I had and emptied them down to exactly 3 oz. each to comply with the idiotic TSA rules. The TSA idiot wouldn't let any of the bottles through the security checkpoint. I was told that it was the capacity of the bottle, not the volume of the contents. I challenged it until the other TSA idiots took notice and started to circle like sharks, looking for some reason to take me down.
I had one trip (and I reported about it here) where I had my little 6 oz. factory-sealed yogurt container taken by TSA but that one of the passengers in line before me never had to show his ID at the ticket counter or the security checkpoint.
The Abu Gharb guards should have introduced this in thier defense.
