Sorry, but I want to hear the other side of the story first. Look at the way moonbats scream about “police brutality” when they get tasered for ignoring security personnel at libraries. (Snicker)

But, no - this is a one-sided account. She could have very easily been rude and abrasive. Having a 19 month old doesn’t excuse you from treating public servants like trash.

I agree. Plus, we don’t know about any threats or other intelligence that may have guided the inspectors. We need both sides. I don’t blame this woman at all for being upset, but a lot of people are being inconvenienced these days.

Their ‘job’ is to look out for TERRORISTS and help the other citizens, who are their bosses, get to where they are going quickly and efficiently.
Fire ‘em all. To hell with the screeners, just arm the passengers. I would like any and all transport officials to lose a day’s pay for any time a citizen is wrongfully delayed. Jackbooted thugs who don’t even have the balls to kick down doors.

What if she was rude and abrasive-so what. It certainly did not justify her missing her flight. I might be rude and abrasive if I was treated this badly. Since when did being rude to a TSA officer become a crime?

There was 3 ounces of water in the cup. Guidelines state that 3 ounces is allowed. It was in the child's sippy cup. If three ounces is allowed, then 3 ounces is allowed. If TSA wouldn't have made a big deal, it wouldn't have escalated.

I went through airport screening 2 years ago with my then 5 yr old. She had an electronic game. The inspector told my daughter to turn on the game. She did. It worked. The inspector then asked her to take out the batteries. The cover had a screw in it like all battery covers do now because they are considered a choking hazard, so she couldn't take the cover off. The inspector raised her voice and said, "Take the cover off!" I said it has a screw in it and we don't have a screwdriver. My daughter is now starting to panic. The inspector took out a screwdriver and took off the cover. Then she removed the rest of the screws and took the entire cover off. She didn't find anything so she put it back together. She then told my daughter to sit in a chair and searched ONLY her carry-on. There was another game in the carry-on which she took completely apart. While this was going on, 3 officers stood behind me and my daughter. Guess what my daughter no longer wants to do.

I agree with those who would like to hear the other side of the story.

I have seen plenty of people (like Paris Hilton) who seem to think rules are for the rest of us and not them.

“Sorry, but I want to hear the other side of the story first.”

I have to agree. While I think the initial questioning was pretty ridiculous, I’d have to hear the other side before making any kind of judgement.

I have seen way too many TSA incidents, wherein the person harrassed had done nothing wrong at all, to say that I can honestly imagine in this case the TSA was once again on the side of rude, power-crazed vulgarity.

bolobaby — that’s what I’m wondering too.

*SO* many people have an “entitlement breeder” attitude. She may have been completely rude and hateful to the TSA agents. I want to hear their side. And heck, it’s an airport! Where’s the video?!

And what the $*$*$ is up with her fiance leaving her at the security counter? *laugh* My hubby doens’t walk more than 10’ past whenever I go through — he waits like a good husband :)
