What makes you think he’d siphon more votes from Reps then he would from dems?

This month’s NRA magazine says Bloomberg has set aside $1 Billion to run for president. Okay, so what. He’s still a liberal Democrat, Bloombert is so anti-gun it’s unbelievable and a lot of blue collar democrats voted against Al Gore because he was anti-gun. After Gore’s failed presidential run both Bill Clinton and Al Gore said stay away from the gun issue and Bloomberg can’t.

Bloomie will hurt Hildabeast rather than help. He’ll peel off just enough New England libs and put NY in serious play, perhaps enough that the right Republican can win there.

I think you're right. Bloomberg is a full on liberal, and he'll steal more dem votes. I do think that he's done a great job with the WOT (War on Trans fats)

Yeah, the Chrissy Mathews types will play this up as some kinda loss for the Bush administration...which of course is nonsense.

I’d like to see a few more go.

>> He’s going to be the Ross Perot of 2008, giving us a Clinton Presidency.

He’ll hurt the Left more than the Right.

Let’s see, perfect scenario would be Bloomberg running as an Independent and Nader running too. That should tilt the scales in the Republican candidate’s favor.

As if he ever was a Republican.

There is no real Republican Party in NYC. The Dem party is hard-left, so the moderate Dems run as Republicans

Now way does NYC Bloomberg take away enough Southern votes from Republicans to tip the states to the Dems. Ross Perot had that advantage.

“I don’t know about that. The MSM will trumpet the “former Republican” line enough that a few moderate Pubbies dissatisfied with the nominee just might vote for him.”

Even in such a case, Bloomberg’s real support will still come from dissatisfied Northeastern liberals. Because of his record and his policy views, he’ll still draw off more Democrat votes than Republican votes, and he could seriously cut into Hillary’s base.

He’s going to be the Ross Perot of 2008, giving us a Clinton Presidency

Doubtful. He'd siphon more votes from Hillary than from the Republican candidate.

I hope (and THINK) you're right. But the guy's got something up his sleeve. I wonder what it is if not as a third party spoiler candidate.

I have a relative who is the widow of someone who earned his money in petroleum and she is the most lefty of lefties. Of course, she’s in her 80s, lives in a 2 million dollar apartment, has help, and is well meaning and totally clueless. In other words, a typical lefty.

Good call....he does sound like a John Anderson Lib-Indy. Although Reagan would have won easily over Carter without Anderson winning 8% of the vote...but it did make Reagan’s win much bigger
