So, basically what youre saying is that media ownership is overwhelmingly liberal and that the owners want their employees to reflect their liberal political views too, and attempt to effect this by their hiring and firing practices. No, not really. What I am saying is that it's not illegal to hire and fire employees on the basis of political leanings. Whether the management of any of the companies in question does this consciously or not is debatable. What's certain, though, is that the report generated by MSNBC showed, I believe, a 9:1 ratio towards the liberal side.

This is surprising to me......Ive always considered OReilly a liberal who disguises it well, primarily by his heavy emphasis on morals in a degree and manner that is uncharacteristic for liberals.

And this is their ETHICS columnist? LOL! I wonder what a guy WITHOUT ethics would have done?

MSNBC.com identified 144 journalists who made political contributions from 2004 through the start of the 2008 campaign, according to the public records of the Federal Election Commission. Most of the newsroom checkbooks leaned to the left: 125 journalists gave to Democrats and liberal causes. Only 17 gave to Republicans. Two gave to both parties. This quote is from the follow-up article on the website. It has lots more good info.

National Catholic Reporter, Margot Patterson, senior writer and arts/opinion editor, $2,100 to Claire McCaskill, Senate candidate, Democrat, in October 2006; a total of $800 to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee in 2004 and 2006; $1,000 to Democratic Rep. Emanuel Cleaver in 2004; and $250 to Howard Dean, Democratic presidential candidate, in February 2004.As a practicing Cathlic I am ashamed. The NCR should be innundated with correspondence calling for Ms. Patterson to be CANNED. She should not be permitted to support baby murderers and work for a Catholic periodical. Period.
