Odierno: Iran has 'surge' in Iraq

BAGHDAD, June 22 (UPI) -- Iran has responded to the U.S. surge in Iraq with its own surge, the commander of the multinational force said Friday.

Lt. Gen. Ray Odierno told journalists increased Iranian backing for Iraqi militants apparently started in March, CNN reported.

Herders (if I remember correctly) who were spies for the Taliban spotted them. They COULD NOT take out the herders due to 'Rules of Engagement'. The herders tipped off the Taliban, 3 of the 4 Seals are dead. The helicopter rescue team is also dead.

I read that article on MSNBC. The truth was that they had no way of knowing if they were Taliban or not. They were unarmed and a vote was taken whether or not to execute them on the spot. Now without knowing what you know now, would you have voted to execute potentially innocent goat herders? I’m not sure what the right answer is, but it was not as black and white as you claim.
