Bush vows permanent ban on future illegal migrants

Bush vows permanent ban on future illegal migrants Jun 23 01:49 PM US/Eastern President George W. Bush promised Saturday to permanently bar future illegal immigrants from the United States as he renewed his push for immigration reform, a centerpiece of his domestic agenda.

A revised reform package was reintroduced in the Senate this past week after its predecessor failed on June 7 to garner enough votes to cut off debate and move for final passage.

The collapse of the first proposal has prompted a personal intervention by the president, who went to Capitol Hill to plead for giving the bill a second chance.

But while he has succeeded in putting the proposal back on the Senate agenda, the legislation is facing strong opposition from both Republicans and Democrats, who argue that granting legal status to an estimated 12 million illegal immigrants will only encourage more people to sneak across the poorly guarded border.

In his weekly radio address, Bush sought to address these concerns, revealing for the first time that under the revised proposal, people crossing a US border illegally will not only be deported, but never allowed to enter the United States again.

"Under this bill, those caught crossing illegally will be permanently barred from returning to the United States on a work or tourist visa," the president stated.

He went on to assure Americans the new bill puts border enforcement first.

The measure contains 4.4 billion dollars to help the US Border Patrol hire more agents, build additional fencing, purchase infrared cameras and other technologies that help intercept illegal aliens.

"Only after these enforcement tools are in place will certain other parts of the bill go into effect," Bush said.

He’s desperate. Well, too bad. If he’d been up front with the public, and we’d voted on whether we wanted to be part of a North American Union, maybe I’d feel sorry for him. But no. It’s been nothing but lies and sleight of hand, smoke and mirrors, open borders, conniving with Fox, Mexico’s corrupt govt., and big business elites who couldn’t care less about the nation’s welfare and sovereignty, and in wartime to boot. GW can go fry ice.

How about they go back to the drawing board and enforce the laws that are already on the books for several years to PROVE that they are serious, and then we’ll talk.

Not gonna happen.
Both Bill O'Reilly and Geraldo believe that it's not possible to deport them all; besides, it's unfair.

Reason enough for me to solidify my resolve...

Deport them all, and let's start over.
Re-establish qualifications, and set fair worldwide non-muslim quotas according to a country's population.

Muslims need not apply.

Mr Bush doesn't seem to understand (or is it that he doesn't care?) that when he leaves office he won't have a single blessed friend in this country. The RATS will forever see him as Hitler's evil twin and Republicans will forever see him as Jorge Bush.

Congratulations,Mr President...with your support of amnesty you've ensured yourself a place in history right next to Carter and LBJ as being an ex-presidfent who's hated by *everybody*!

“Nobody believes you Mr. Bush. Resign. Now.”

I think you are on to something, perhaps some of our energy should go in that direction.

"They are shocked to find out we are not as ill-informed and stupid as they assumed."

The next big grassroots battle be the HillaryCare/Michael M "Sicko"Care battle. (here in California and nationally...my guess: we lose the Calif. battle and win the national battle).

“”Under this bill, those caught crossing illegally will be permanently barred from returning to the United States on a work or tourist visa...”

This is just pathetic. The government could have been doing this all along, but they didn’t.

They certainly won’t in the future.

NO Mr President.

With all due respect.....You are wrong on this as I was in earlier years.

We cannot allow illegals into our nation any more.

We cannot allow them to stay!!!!!

They must fix their homelands...not permanently change ours. AMERICA IS WILLING TO HELP THEM FIX THEIR HOMELANDS.

This latest surge of migrants are completely different from those who came during our historical past. They are not refugees fleeing from communism. They are undermining our nation’s values.

One more thing Mr President. THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT.

It is in your power (EXECUTIVE ORDERS) to cease and desist allowing any more Muslims into our country.

DO IT NOW.

Bush, other elite politicians and brown nosed servants: “its broke”, “it wont work”.

Well, stupid is as stupid does. It (what ever it is) will not work if you do not cause it to work. The fault in this case is the user, not the tools provided the user.

I seriously think it is closer to 100 million that are here, already. I have a hard time finding English in instruction manuals. I have to press #1 for English on every business call. The spanish greeting card section is larger than the English section. I have to bring a spanish dictionary on every trip - in order to speak to housekeeping at any hotel. They don’t even speak English at the local KFC. If you want two legs, you have to point to your legs. If you want two br......well, you get the picture.

Okay, that would mean that tomorrow, anyone in the U.S. who is not legal, would immediately become legal. That sounds like amnesty to me.

This is your legacy George Bush....

..too bad you can't read all these comments...

You've lost our loyalty, our trust and our respect..
...and many of us once loved you with all our hearts

...Now...we simply don't believe you.

It still makes me sadder than words can express.

Bush promised

Bush promised to uphold The Constitution, too, when he first took office on January 20, 2001, but he managed to let millions of illegals invade this sovereign nation anyway.

The Bushes seem to have a problem with credibility.

Bush I: Read my lips, not new taxes.
Bush II: Read my lips, it is not amnesty.

Yep, don’t have enough buses to deport them all at once, but being
New Orleans doesn’t use their evacuation buses, deportation can start putting some miles on them.
