You win! Conservatives (and the not-so-conservative) want someone they can vote FOR.
Stopping Gore and Kerry twice didn't advance the cause that this country was founded upon, namely: Liberty. Our Government has gobbled-up more of our money, time, and everything else since 'compassion' entered the scene.
Give me a border, not compassion. Give me states who can "just say no" to abortion (as they would have to slavery-but we know how that turned out) and save your 'compassion'. Give me a government that knows it's place in the scheme of things: where it must conduct itself within the confines of the Bill of Rights, rather than 'compassionately' disregarding it's limits to appease special interests.
We haven't 'danced with the one who brung us' in a long time.
As a country, we can no longer afford the luxury of pissing on our founders graves, for we shall surely pay a price. Thompson, Hunter, whoever; we must get this train back on the track for our posterity.
'08 will truly test whether we embrace freedom and liberty as envisioned or, are willing to endure life in a police-state and the security it 'promises'. Myself, I have little use for 'chains' unless they're on a tire going over the summit. Even then, I can take them off when I reach the other side. Not so, when they're the 'all season' variety a police state would impose.
