You can read this exact same doom and gloom outlooks from every older generation since the 20's.....Novels, diaries, old newspapers, etc....all have the same doom and gloom tone from time to time....

You can read it much further back through history than that. Venting however can yield benefits to both those who do it, and are temporarily relieved, and those who learn something or figure out something from the vent of the other.
